LEADERSHIP?

Nelson Mandela is one of the best leaders of this century and he marked the emergence of a new kind of African leader. A leader of honour, integrity, resilience and courage. The Nelson Mandela Scholarship was conceived when the Unilever for Education and Development identified strong and visionary leadership as one of South Africa's most critical developmental needs.

At Unilever, we believe that exposure to different cultures accelerates leadership development. Given the strategic importance of the United Kingdom to South Africa, and the reputation and quality of its universities, it was decided that the Nelson Mandela Scholars should take up their year of study there.
