Q : What does the Scholarship include?
A : The scholarship covers full tuition fees, one return flight and the following allowances:
A living allowance for accommodation, food, travel and other necessities
A book allowance
An arrival and a departure allowance
A dissertation allowance.

Q : Why isn't a Technikon Degree accepted?
A : Technikons are not recognised in the UK for many of the masters programmes.

Q : If there is not enough space on the application form, can we attach a separate piece of paper?
A: No, use the space provided. Attachments that are not specifically requested will be discarded.

Q : Do we have to apply to the Universities ourselves?
A : Yes.

Q : Do you have to be accepted at a university before you can complete an application form?
A: No, but you need to be aware of UK universities deadlines for applications. Some universities have deadlines that would arrive before the scholarship's selection process has been completed. Also, it usually creates a more positive impression at the final selection panel if you have already made applications to universities.

Q: Are there any degrees or subject areas that the scholarship will not fund? Will the scholarship cover any degree?
A: There are no restrictions in terms of subject areas as long as the degree you wish to pursue is a post-graduate and not an undergraduate degree.

Q: How can I find out which is the best university for the degree I wish to pursue?
A: We expect scholars to do some research on their own, usually through the Internet, word of mouth, etc. However, if scholars need advice on which university would best match their needs, they may contact Sue Adler at the Canon Collins Educational Trust for Southern Africa. Q : I have only been able to contact one referee. Can I just send that one in?
A : Two testimonials have to be submitted or your application will not be considered. You should be able to contact more than one referee as we will accept references from a senior academic who taught you or from an employer or from a community representative who will vouch for your credentials as a student and a leader.

Q : Do you (Deloitte/Unilever) try to assist us find employment when we return?
A : Deloitte Recruitment Solutions will represent you, but cannot guarantee placement.
